Subject: Smiles of Punta will resume business May 11, 2020

We hope this email finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing at Smiles of Punta Gorda has remained the same: our constant commitment to your safety.

As you have surely seen during your visits to our office, infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our strict processes have consistently made the care you receive at Smiles of Punta Gorda both safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We continue to closely monitor the recommendations of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

When it is time for your next appointment, you may see some changes along with our already strict infection control protocols. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you ahead of your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office.
  • Upon arrival at office, we ask that you call or text to let us know you have arrived and what type of vehicle you are in.  Stay in your vehicle and one of our team members will come to bring you in for treatment.
  • When entering the office, we will ask you to use hand sanitizer which we will supply. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You are required to bring a mask/face covering to wear while you are in our office.
  • You may see that our reception area will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and other items which cannot be properly disinfected. You are encouraged to bring your own iPad, reading materials, etc.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered slightly limited options for scheduling your appointment.
  • We will do our best to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 941-787-2223 or visit our website at www.smilesofpuntagorda.com.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends in the safest way possible.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Martin DMD,
Christopher Ramke DMD,
and your Smiles of Punta Gorda team

2 Strategies For Better Smile In 2021

December 16, 2020
Dental Patient Checked by a Dentist | Smiles of Punta Gorda

It’s never too soon to start looking ahead to a new year and giving your oral health a fresh start.

After the holidays are over, visit your Punta Gorda dentist so we can talk about your oral health goals for 2021 and what it will take to achieve them.

Today, we want to offer some ideas for staying in control of dental problems and how to get back on track if you’ve already been struggling with issues affecting your teeth and gums.

Here are two strategies that will help your smile stay bright and beautiful in the new year when you make Smiles of Punta Gorda your trusted source for quality dental care!

Protecting Your Smile

For great oral health all year long, you not only want to remain vigilant with your daily oral hygiene at home. You’ll need to visit us routinely for dental cleanings and exams.

But we offer more strategies for preventing dental problems than just cleaning your teeth and spotting potential issues.

We can provide your teeth with a strong barrier against harmful bacteria and a strengthening treatment to remineralize microscopic damage to your tooth enamel.

With dental sealants and fluoride varnishes, your teeth will stay safer for longer in between your routine hygiene appointments! These are easy preventive services that go a long way in keeping your oral health on the right track.

If you have any athletes in the family, you can also avoid dental problems by giving them a custom mouthguard. This will protect their teeth and gums comfortably while they’re participating in a winter or spring sport, and it will lower the risk of painful injuries and the costly dental treatments they often require.

Restoring Your Smile

Maybe the challenges of 2020 have made it difficult for you to maintain good oral health.

You’re not alone. Dentists across the country have had to adjust their hours and available services to some extent due to the pandemic, which means many people may have had a harder time getting the preventive care they needed.

Not just that, but being quarantined for weeks or months at a time has likely meant a lot more baking, and more sugar consumption, than many people are used to.

In other words, preventing dental problems has been an issue for everyone this year, so perhaps your first priority is to restore your smile in 2021.

There are many ways we can do that, depending on the problems with your oral health you’ve been dealing with like tooth decay, cavities, or dental damage:

  • Dental Crowns & Bridges – You can make your smile whole again with dental crowns and bridges if you need to replace one or several teeth. We can add dental implants to your restorative treatment plan to give you the strongest, most secure new teeth available. Even a single dental crown can restore your smile, however, if all you have is a weak, discolored, or a damaged tooth that needs to be reinforced.
  • Tooth-Colored Fillings – Being too long away from the dentist may have resulted in a cavity or two, but with our tooth-colored fillings, you can treat decayed teeth in a seamless way that won’t leave behind any visible evidence of dental work!
  • Dental Veneers – Just as strong as they are beautiful, dental veneers can transform unhealthy, damaged teeth down to your exact specifications about how you want your new smile to look.
  • Dental Implants – As we mentioned, implants can be secured to your crowns, bridges, and even dentures so your smile isn’t just whole again, but it’s incredibly strong. Dental implants give you the best long-term oral health outlook, as well, so you can maintain a healthy smile for the rest of your life with the right care.

Call For Your First Dental Appointment of 2021

Get a head start on making your smile everything it could be by putting your first dental appointment of 2021 on the calendar now. We can discuss what you’d like to achieve in the new year and make sure you have what you need for a gorgeous, confident, and healthy smile.

To correct the loss I had of two teeth In the lower part of my mouth, Dr. Martin recommended I have a bridge that basically encompassed six teeth including the missing two. Thanks to his outstanding work and the work of his dental technician, the result was basically perfect. I couldn’t be happier about the outcome.
